Based on the Dreamspell Calendar as outlined by Jose Arguelles in "The Mayan Factor". This painting is a fusion of science, mythology and art. 

Mandala (sanskrit) in Hindu and Buddhist tantrism, a symbolic diagram used in the performance of sacred rites and as an instrument of meditation. The mandala is basically a representation of the universe, a consecrated area that serves as a receptacle of the Gods and as a collection point for universal forces. Man (the microcosm), by mentally entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center, is by analogy guided through the cosmic processes of disintegration and re-integration. 

The original idea was to create a mandala that reflected god's consciousness as mirrored in the heavens for the period 2000-2012. (Terrance McKenna called 2012 the "transcendental object at the end of time" and also "the strange attractor" because we are being drawn inexorably to this point in time.)
Consequently each of the colours are specifically chosen to symbolise signs of the zodiac and in fact it is a precise planetary ephemeris for the above mentioned period. One is able to read the location of any planet in any sign for this period. Consequently an enormous amount of time was required to calculate and position the central colours. On top of this I overlaid the Dreamspell Calendar entailing the Tzolkin, Haab, Galactic Seasons, Castles and 13 Moon Calendar (see www.tortugua.com). 

The information for any day in time can be derived from the combination of all of the above leading to the correct meditation for that day according to the Dreamspell Calendar. For this I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to the visionary work of Dr Jose Arguelles. Many amazing experiences unfolded during the creation of this work. It entailed over a thousand hours of work spanning a year in all.

The galactic mandala may primarily be used as a visual meditation tool (yantra) taking on the role of a galactic activation portal facilitating access to realms beyond third dimensional consciousness.Assuming you also see some virtues in the Babylonian-European twelve sector division of the heavens it may be used to plot the location of all planets from the Sun outward to Uranus from the period 26 July 2000 until 21 December 2012 as it is a colour coded mirror of the pattern of God's planetary plan for this solar system over the next twelve years. Even if you don't understand or believe in the system I believe the pattern will strike a deep resonance within your DNA codes allowing a natural attunement of your light body with the heavens (as without so within). 

It is also to serve as a bridge to the coming realization of the importance of a change over to a thirteen moon based calendar.

It can also be used as an introduction to the study of the Tzolkin – guaranteed to intrigue and fascinate you with the depth of its teachings for many years to come.

Please note that this calendar is based on ”The Dreamspell” as revealed to Dr Jose Arguelles and elucidated in his brilliant work “The Mayan Factor – Path Beyond Technology”.

As this entire area of the Mayan calendar is surrounded in controversy you must realize “The Dreamspell” differs in its interpretation of exactly which day we are experiencing from that of the classical Mayan calendar. What it does share with the classic calendar is its belief in Hunab Ku, the one God of movement and measure who brings into existence all things through the Tzolkin, a 260 day count based on the human gestation period and comprising 20 day signs or archetypal energies which each exhibit 13 variations of pulse giving rise to 260 distinct and livable frequencies, commencing on Day 1 with Red Magnetic Dragon followed by White Lunar Wind, Day 3 is Blue Electric Night, thus it continues through all 260 unique frequencies until the completion of the Tzolkin with Day 260, Yellow Cosmic Sun. It also agrees with the classical Mayan calendar on the 21st December 2012 date as the birth of a hitherto unknown and sacred realm of existence for the entire planetary system. 

Although there appears to be much controversy over this fact amongst the well researched it also stresses the importance of the connection to the cycles of the heavens and the corresponding living of a life devoted to oneness with nature and the deep respect for the sacredness of all life on the planet.

Much of the acceptance of new revelations depends on our openness to whether we believe or not in the existence of the evolution of Revelation to woman/mankind or whether spiritual truths are frozen for all time. Has the evolution of Revelation stopped? It would seem unlikely especially given the timeframe we all share.

I personally see “The Dreamspell” as a mystical revelation of the classical Mayan calendar and as Sufism is to Islam or Kabala to Judaism, for me “The Dreamspell” calendar is to the classical Mayan calendar. As Sikhism strove for a union between Islam and Hinduism, I see “The Dreamspell” as a union between the classical Mayan calendar and the New Age. 

As truth belongs to God, revelation belongs to woman/mankind, not tribes or else Christianity and Islam would have remained small cults belonging to localized tribes except it be the will of God. If Buddhism had remained isolated in northern India we would never have had Zen, Chan or the glory of Vajrayana (Tibetan) Buddhism.

One thing is for sure, our consciousness en masse is changing profoundly bringing new light to all things. I see the classical Mayan calendar as a base of a pyramid, the one culture (Mayan) leading to the building of the pyramid of revelations of the unified world tribe. Is the letter of the law more important than the spirit of the law? Whether you spell it Inlakech or Inlakesh it still means I am another you.

As there are many disagreements between the authorities over aspects of the calendar, whether it is calibrated correctly or not, time is still fourth dimensional and of the nature of God unifying us all. Therefore following from this it would seem each is free to interpret the calendar in their own unique way and perhaps after all there is really no correct interpretation and even if there were it would seem to pale into insignificance in regard to the critical importance of finding some unity between us all. Perhaps after all is said and done that may be the real purpose of its use as a vehicle conveying us to God. If we Calendar followers cannot find that unity amongst ourselves and with others from other followings or belief systems then that leaves us in no better standing before God than all those other belief systems that have added unto the divisiveness on this planet. It is after all just another belief system. The reality of our situation is that we are all united by our sharing of this space craft earth and the ultimate connecting principle, time, which is after all God's gift and perhaps humanity's oneness beyond 2012. 

So here is my attempt to unify the western twelve sign zodiac with the middle American thirteen number frequency. Perhaps this is the galactic mandala of the “time is an illusion” calendar. Anyone who has partaken of the “flesh of the Gods” as apparently did the Mayan shamans, will attest to the reality of that fact. I see the Tzolkin as a matrix for structuring the spiritual energies of time. For me as an astrologer I continually receive personal validation through circumstances within my own life that the Divine Plan uses astronomical cycles based on the movements of the planets to symbolize spiritual cycles related to the evolution of consciousness. In regard to the current squabbles surrounding the calendar I don't know who is correct. This is basically a painting inspired by a culture whose roots perhaps allude us all. In the end the important thing for me is whether the study of any subject brings to any of us more love to our hearts, peace to our minds and compassion for our sisters and brothers. Did not the Great One make us all to experience reality in our own unique way, simply magnificent light filled facets of one awesome being whose true essence we partake of spiritually and whose ultimate nature is beyond anything we can conceive of presently. As far as time goes I believe we would all have to agree that in regard to obsession with and love of the subject the original Mayan culture was the jewel in the crown.
